I remember the summer night I first heard this song. I was seventeen and hopelessly in love with my very first real boyfriend and every word reminded me of him. I even sang this to him over the phone.

He's still my favorite person in the entire world and the one I think of when I hear songs like All I Want Is You by Barry Polisar (which is actually his ringtone on my phone).

Anyhow, I was thinking about the Lemonheads yesterday and remembered this song, one I hadn't thought about in ages. I wanted to post it because after all these years, he still makes me so incredibly happy. I love you, Ken.

My best friend Ken sent me a link to a video of Thu Tran's wild and crazy Food Party this morning. I wasn't sure at first whether I was still dreaming...it's quite loony, kind of Pee-wee's Playhouse-esque with a twist of the Muppets on drugs, or, as Ken wrote, a little Rachael Ray on LSD. So yeah, exactly my kind of thing.

Very charming, very strange, and yes, it's a total Food Party. This is the first of five YouTube videos that comprise the first episode, but the second part is my favorite, so that's what I'm posting. I especially love that she misspells hors d'oeuvres.

I effing love the Raconteurs. I am ashamed to admit that I only ever buy CDs at Target (I know, I should really branch out...especially because we have some incredible music stores in LA) so if it's not in stock there, I probably haven't bought it. I have made an effort to check for it every time I go shopping, but I may just need to make a special trip to Amoeba or something to buy Consolers of the Lonely, because it KICKS ASS.

The song is Old Enough and the band, obviously, is the Raconteurs. I so dig the Jethro Tull, '70s rock quality on this tune.

This song has such a catchy, retro quality to it; it's actually a pretty depressing video, but I like it anyways.

This is such an amazing duet; I love both of their voices. I heard this song on the radio yesterday and knew right away I'd be posting it for NaBloPoMo.

The artists are Alison Krauss and Robert Plant; the song is Please Read The Letter. I chose the live version because the official video drops the second verse, which is really beautiful.

I just this minute heard this song while watching Nocturnal State on VH1...totally enchanting. I love the video, too, even though the end is a little weird.
