Conversation between a co-worker and I regarding his hopes for a new job with one of our other offices...

Me: We all work with volunteers. Do you have volunteer management experience?

Co-worker: No.

Me: Have you ever been a volunteer?

Co-worker: Uh, I volunteered for you. I'm in your database.

Me: Okay, well, we're doing a lot with consumer protection these days. Do you have any knowledge about scams or fraud?

Co-worker: Only as a victim.

Me: Great. "That Nigerian dude totally said he was a prince!" I don't think that's going to get you hired.
