Katrina

Well, I haven't blogged in a few weeks, and I'm certainly behind the curve when it comes to all the good people online who have directed visitors to information on how they can help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. However, it's not too late.

The number one way to help is to donate to the American Red Cross.

In Los Angeles, The Dream Center in Echo Park is housing up to 300 families from New Orleans. They can use money, of course, but also:

NEW maternity clothes
NEW underwear for men, women, and children
Postage stamps
Ethnic hair products
16" stand oscillating fans
Stationery/envelopes
Compact 2.7 cubic foot refrigerators
Tall upright 4-drawer dressers

These are just a few of their needs. Visit their site to find out more about how you can help. Donations can be dropped off at 2301 Bellevue Avenue, Los Angeles, 900026 from 9am-8pm every day except Sundays, or you can call 213-273-7000 for more information. (Thanks to Blogging.la for this local donation suggestion.)
