There's No Place Like Home

My realtor and I went out over my lunch hour to view some houses. I'm finding more and more places in my price range and I may have lucked out today.

We visited a 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath house in Alhambra, just south of the 10 up on a hill. The place is in fantastic shape - it still has tenants - and located on a quiet street. It has a nice kitchen, lots of storage, and a huge (though mostly hardscape) backyard with two lemon trees!

It's not in Pasadena, which is unfortunate, but it's pretty close (20 minutes without traffic). Anyhow, frankly, I could never afford this place if it was in Pasadena.

My realtor is calling the selling agent this afternoon to discuss next steps. I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up because it's a short sale, and that means it could easily fall through for any number of reasons, especially if someone outbids me. However...I really like this place a lot so, okay, my hopes are totally up. Pray for me!

'K' Is For 'Kvetch'

My back, neck, and arm hurt a lot today. :(

I had a party to go to in Manhattan Beach, but I wasn't up for driving that far on the freeway, considering I didn't feel that great. (I'm also a little nervous about going out of my comfort zone right now, and that would include driving any more than a few minutes on the freeway.) My friend Aíme also had a show tonight in Downtown that I wanted to see, but ultimately, I decided I needed to stay home and rest. I'm bummed I missed his show since I haven't seen him perform live in a long time, but hopefullly he'll be on stage again soon.

I have nothing interesting to say today. I am tired and sore and the muscle relaxants aren't helping that much. To top it all off, I have PMS.

However, tomorrow I'm going to view some houses with my realtor...so despite feeling yucky right now, I have something to look forward to tomorrow afternoon.

'P' Is For 'Pre-Qualified'

Oh my God. I am on the road to homeownership!

I have been pre-qualified for a home loan. I have a realtor. And I am looking at listings.

It's exciting and terrifying all at once!

I'm still at the beginning of things, but I can already highly recommend Elizabeth Dillon at CLS Financial Services to get you started on the loan process. She's been a dream and has helped answer every single question I've had, which, given how little I know about homebuying, has been about ten million so far.
